Currently based in Portland, Oregon, I write and consult on issues of language acquisition and learning worldwide.
Previously I had taught English abroad, working with General English, Business English, and Aviation English.
I still teach English when appropriate, but improving to the B2 level on the CEFR scale (the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages), and especially on to C1 or C2, requires more than just additional lessons.
What more advanced learners really need is to extend and polish their skills for more effective usage.
For this purpose Capstone English addresses the unique needs of strong intermediate and advanced students seeking to apply their abilities in more realistic and challenging settings. The course is tailored for the needs of small groups in Latin America and Western Europe, and most appropriate for those already possessing a solid grasp of basic English grammar and its vocabulary, who desire to improve their skills in a more socially active and meaningful manner.
